Before You Book

The answers everyone's looking for.

  • If you have a colon, it’s probably worth exploring. Whether you’re feeling bloated, backed up, or simply curious, colon hydrotherapy can support your digestive health and overall well-being. Your colon can play a role in more of your health concerns than you might think. Every body is different, so we’ll tailor each session to you.

  • Yes. Colon hydrotherapy is considered safe for most healthy individuals when performed by a trained Colon Hydrotherapist using professional equipment. We use the gentle Woods Gravity Method and will always discuss your health history before getting started.

  • Typically, no, but it can feel intense at times. Those moments often happen as we work through something worth working through, but trust, we’ll be right there to guide and support you. Coming in nervous is completely normal too. Those nerves usually fade quickly once the session gets going and your attention shifts to everything else your body is doing.

  • Instead of using pressurized water, the Woods Gravity Method lets gravity do the work, making the experience gentler and more comfortable. It's a fully closed system, and your therapist stays with you the entire time, guiding the session based on what your body needs.

  • We use a closed system. With a closed system, waste travels through a tube directly into the sewage system, which means no smells and no mess. With an open system, waste passes from your body into a basin or tub.

We love the closed Woods Gravity Method because it allows for stronger output and gives us more ability to work with the flow of the session to encourage your body to release more. It’s also important to know that not all closed systems are the Woods Gravity Method.

People sometimes call asking specifically for an open system simply because that’s what they’ve had before or were told to look for. We always want clients to understand the difference so they can make an informed choice, because the closed, gravity-based experience can feel very different.

  • There is no right or wrong starting point. You can begin with any session that feels right for you. There is no required order, and nothing you need to “work up to.” All sessions are fully guided and adjusted in real time based on your comfort, so you are supported no matter which option you choose.

  • Colonics can feel incredibly impactful, especially for people dealing with bloating, constipation, sluggish digestion, or feeling generally uncomfortable in their bodies. At the same time, long-term digestive wellness usually comes from ongoing habits, nourishment, stress management, hydration, and consistency over time. Many clients find colon hydrotherapy becomes one supportive part of a broader wellness practice.

  • Yes, you can absolutely come in during your period. Some clients actually find colon hydrotherapy supportive at this time because it can help them feel lighter, less bloated, and more comfortable in their bodies.

That said, everyone is different. If you have very painful, heavy, or

emotionally intense periods, you may prefer to schedule around your cycle.

It’s completely up to your comfort level.

  • Yes, many people with hemorrhoids do receive colon hydrotherapy. If hemorrhoids are active, inflamed, or causing significant discomfort, we recommend checking in with your own comfort level before booking. Some clients choose to wait until things calm down, while others still proceed depending on how they’re feeling. We always aim to work gently and supportively with your body.

  • If you are feeling mildly unwell, many people still choose to come in for colon hydrotherapy, especially if they are experiencing sluggish digestion, bloating, or general discomfort.

However, if you have a fever, acute infection, or are significantly unwell, it is usually best to rest. We always recommend listening to your body and prioritizing recovery first.

  • Many people do. Some come the day before, while others book two days in a row leading up to their colonoscopy. Some clients come the morning of, but only when the timing works with their healthcare provider’s instructions. A colonic is an addition to your prescribed preparation, not a replacement for it. We generally hear very positive feedback from clients who include one.

  • Yes. If you're taking a GLP-1 medication, such as Ozempic®, Wegovy®, Mounjaro®, or Zepbound®, colon hydrotherapy can be a supportive option, especially if you're experiencing constipation or slower digestion, which are common side effects.

  • There are many reasons people experience constipation, bloating, or difficulty releasing gas, including stress, diet, hydration, gut motility, lifestyle patterns, and nervous system regulation. Colon hydrotherapy can help support the body in releasing what has been difficult to pass naturally, while also giving clients a clearer sense of how their digestion is functioning. Many people also use the experience as a reset point to reconnect with their body and digestion.

Your First Visit

Less awkward than you think, we promise.

  • We generally recommend eating lighter, nourishing foods beforehand and staying hydrated. Some people prefer not to eat for a few hours before their appointment, and it’s also perfectly fine to fast if that feels better for you, but neither is required. A very full stomach won’t interfere with the colonic, though it may feel less comfortable for some people. We do not believe you need to prepare “perfectly” in order to benefit from a session. Many clients come in after vacations, stressful periods, heavy meals, or times when they feel particularly bloated or backed up. Our approach is grounded and realistic. We’re here to support you wherever you’re starting from, so come as you are.

  • It’s possible, but very unlikely. The end of your session is devoted to using the toilet and making sure you feel completely ready before you leave. You’re welcome to take your time and relax in the waiting area if you need a few extra minutes. For most people, once they leave, they’re able to return to work or continue with their day as usual without any issues.

  • Come as you are. We’ll start with a quick waiver, then head into your private treatment room and get going. We’ll walk you through each step, stay with you throughout, and focus on helping you get the most from your session. There’s plenty of time to ask questions, talk through what’s going on, or just have a fun hang. The session lasts about 50 minutes, give or take, so please arrive on time and give yourself about an hour total.

  • Come as you are. Nothing special is needed. Once you’re in your private treatment room, you’ll undress from the waist down and cover yourself with the drape sheet we provide. We’ll give you complete privacy while you get settled.

  • Absolutely. Every session takes place in a private treatment room with a certified Colon Hydrotherapist. This is a one-on-one experience, and your comfort is always our priority.

  • Honestly? Most people expect it to be far more awkward than it actually is. Once your session begins, those nerves usually disappear within a few minutes. We do this every day, and our goal is to help you feel relaxed, respected, and completely at ease.

  • Give yourself about an hour. The session itself is around 50 minutes, give or take. Most of the conversation, questions, and support happen while your session is underway, so we make the most of our time together.

  • No. Your therapist stays with you throughout the session to guide the process, answer questions, and make sure you’re comfortable from beginning to end. Having a therapist in the room is one of the strengths of our method because we can actively work with your body throughout the session to help you get the most out of it. You’re never left wondering what comes next.

  • Please do! We love curious clients. Whether you're wondering what's happening, why you're feeling something, or just want to learn more about gut health, we're happy to talk you through it.

During & After Your Session

Your pre-game and post-game

  • Most clients leave feeling lighter, less bloated, or more energized, while others simply feel relaxed. You may have another bowel movement later that day, or you may not.  Every body starts in a unique place, so every post-session experience is unique too. You may want to use the restroom, drink some water, move around, or sit on the couch for a bit. You may also feel ready to head straight to your next meeting. What you eat and do afterward can shape how your body responds, so it’s best to skip fixed expectations, listen to your body, and see how you feel.

  • Yes, although most people leave feeling full of energy. Think of it like a big workout. Sometimes it energizes you, and other times your body has worked hard and wants some rest. Feeling tired is less common, but it can happen. Listen to your body and take it easy if that’s what you need.

  • The best thing you can do is tune in to your body before your session, and especially afterward. Slow down when you eat, chew your food, hydrate properly, and notice what leaves you feeling good and what doesn’t. Listening to your body may also mean coming back for a follow-up session if that feels right for you. If your body responds well to colonics, consistency can help. As things clear out, your body’s other cues may become easier to hear.

  • Usually, no. Plenty of our clients come in on their lunch break or before heading to work and go right back to their day afterward. For most people, a colonic is pretty easy to work into a normal day. And if you’ve had colonics before, you probably already have a sense of how your body tends to respond.

  • If you feel up for it, absolutely. Light movement is a great option, but if your body is asking for rest instead, listen to it. There's no prize for pushing through.

  • Think of it like working with a personal trainer. One workout can feel great, but consistency is where the real progress happens. One session can absolutely provide relief, but if you're looking for lasting results, many clients benefit most from a series of treatments. We'll help you find a schedule that makes sense for your body and your goals.

  • Many clients make colon hydrotherapy part of their ongoing wellness practice because they enjoy feeling lighter, less bloated, and reset afterward. Many longtime clients also simply value having a trusted place where they feel comfortable, supported, and cared for.

  • No. Colon hydrotherapy supports your body's natural elimination process. It doesn't replace it. And despite the myths, we're not removing anything your body needs. We're taking out the trash, not your valuables.

Booking & Logistics

All roads lead to your appointment.

  • We understand that life happens. Because every appointment reserves a therapist’s time just for you, cancellations and rescheduling require at least 24 hours’ notice. Changes made within 24 hours—for any reason—and missed appointments are charged the full session fee. This policy applies to everyone and helps us protect our therapists’ time and livelihood.

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may not have enough time to complete your session, and the full session fee will still apply. Thank you for respecting our team and the time we’ve set aside for you.

  • You'll find us at 289 7th Avenue, New York, NY 10001, in the heart of Chelsea. We're located up a flight and a half of stairs (there's no elevator), so we like to give people a heads-up before they arrive. The entrance can be easy to miss, so we'll send detailed directions with your booking to make finding us simple. Once you're inside, though, it's a whole different world. Most people can't believe how calm and cozy it feels after stepping off busy Seventh Avenue.

  • Our office is located up a flight and a half of stairs, and unfortunately there is no elevator, so it is not wheelchair accessible at this time. If you have questions about accessibility or mobility concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out before booking. We're always happy to discuss whether our space is the right fit for your needs.

  • Ready to get started? Simply book your appointment online and choose a time that works best for you. If you have questions first, feel free to give us a call or send us a message. We'd love to help.
